They Gathered Outside My House
Gathered outside my house Are aliens I've known all my life. The breeze connects us all. Ones I've known forever. The ones I've never known. And the ones I've known forever That I've never known. And the ones I've never known That I've always known. And all these eyes Out my window, Forlorn and justified, Concurrent with my own trauma. Oh trauma, oh trauma, oh dear trauma, Like a wounded rotting bag we can't be rid of, How do you dance in the pale moonlight? I close the blinds. They ring the doorbell. I remove the bell and they knock. I remove the door step, Digging a 3 foot dirt hole Right in front of my own door. Now they come down the chimney Like Santa Claus. I've locked myself in the bathroom Saying the last remaining prayers I remember. Quietly they tap on my bathroom door, In shrouds of hushed whispers Like giant demonic spiders Trying to be polite. Don't get me wrong, I love people. I'm just a bit overwhelmed with all this. It's the this and the all to be honest. It's all the all to be super honest. All the all has brought me to this porcelain point. This premeditated existential limbo. (Smash) Oh shoot there's a window in the bathroom. They've shattered through. It's a lady from Xifinity. Wants to know If I'm tired of my old plan And want something new?
