CONNECTIONS
This morning on my walk…with only silence all around I could hear the steady rhythm of my feet as they connected with the ground. Which made me wonder (and you can take this for what it’s worth) If walking is just another way of my heart connecting to the Earth. When I walk along the shore…making footsteps in the sand and listen to the waves…again I understand: as our rhythms blend together…into a peaceful harmony… how my heart has found a way…of connecting to the sea. Occasionally in the silence…I’ll hear footsteps walking close beside me… I like to think they’re angels who I feel…but cannot see. When I stop…the footsteps stop…and I smile…knowing why: It’s another way my heart is joining with the heavens…connecting to the sky. The more I walk with nature… The more I feel my heart connecting to the clouds, the sun…the breeze the animals who greet me…the flowers and the trees. I don’t think it’s an accident…a coincidence… I don’t think it’a huge leap I am taking… when I say the rhythm and sound of my footsteps Is the same rhythm and sound my heart is making. Just another reminder…how…from the moment of our birth… we should never think of ourselves as separate from but always connected to the Earth.
