A Poem About Water
You told me you love poems about water. I couldn't help but grin. I guess I have a dirty mind but my writing making you wet would be so sublime. But I quickly realized and changed my expressions, putting my mind back on writing a poem that would satiate your obsession. The waves washing up, lapping at the sand seemed a good place to start, of course, the ocean is always in command. It's strong, that body of water, fierce as it pounds the shore, I knew you'd like that part because a really good pounding is hard to ignore. The wetness of the ocean is a cool spray that engulfs every grain of sand at least that's what they say. Think about it, every individual grain of sand being caressed by the sea, I don't know about you but I kind of wish that sand was me. Is it getting hot in here? I find it a little hard to write because I keep thinking about you dancing in the waves and bathing naked in the moonlight. But let's talk about the sand. It's just so pliant and supple, where the ocean is huge with mighty waves that dominate and rumble. The sand spends all it's time laying in the heat of the sun, waiting for the water to finally come. Each grain is hot and needs to be revived, it thirsts for the water so it can feel, once again, alive. The entire beach lays open to the water, submissive to the waves commands, resistance is futile, says the ocean. (so I mean why bother?) thus the water dominates the land. So I hope you likes this poem. I wish I could bring the water to you, but you already have someone doing that so I guess if you're happy, I'm happy, really, that's true. ;) ©SamHarty
