I Seek No Wealth, But Treasures True
In ancient days, when hearts entwined, dowry's worth was hard to find. In gold and gems, in riches grand, A bride's possession, close at hand. But not for me, such worldly fare, For love's true wealth, I seek to share. In childhood's realm, where dreams took flight, I ask for treasures, oh so bright. The toys you cherished, loved so dear, The whispers of your laughter near. Your old attire, with memories fraught, Of days of innocence, pure and thought. Not cars or gadgets, TV's gleam, But fragments of your life, a vibrant stream. To know your soul, your passions deep, In these mementos, my heart shall keep. For in these trinkets, lies your essence true, The girl you were, the woman you grew. A dowry rich, beyond compare, A glimpse of you, I long to share. Bring not your father's silver, gold, But bring your laughter, stories told. Bring tales of childhood, friendships made, Of dreams pursued, of fears allayed. Bring not your mother's finest silk, But bring your kindness, soft and sleek. Bring empathy and compassion's art, A gentle touch, a loving heart. In these true gems, my heart shall find, A wealth that's precious, one of a kind. A dowry rare, unseen, unheard, The love of you, my precious word.
