Body Ails Yet Spirit Soars
Fate mastered me, captained my soul And Ruby took her love to town. I rage amid the noise and haste, but I dont let it get me down. My mind, it is not a kingdom. My 'Hope’ plucked all its feathers out. I could not hold fast to my dreams, but my love, it knows no doubt. Uplifting verse, it let me down. The poets lines don't compare as we face our last adventure with the memories that we share I am old and my body frail And nothing works quite like it should My joints hurt, my complexion pale but in you I see only good. I wish that I could leave this room and walk hand in hand once again and see you smile and laugh at me and not just in a picture frame. I love you now, I loved you then, I will love you forever more. My body fails but you I love, as my soul exits through death's door.
