Something You Should Know
Once, when I was about three years old, I had a dream. It wasn't a nightmare, necessarily; it was a different type of scary. I don't remember how it started, but I remember how it went. The world was black and white. Men in construction uniforms were taking everything away. They were slowly taking down all the houses and homes, board by board. They were taking away all the gardens and fences. I stood, Holding my mom's hand. I asked why they were doing this. "Don't you remember?" she said. "I told you this would happen, silly." And then it was all gone. The world was gone. And the only thing left was one tiny green plant. I cried when I woke up. My parents told me it was a nightmare. But it wasn't; not really. It was... Sad. And scary. But not a nightmare. Just...grief.
