Colorful
The freedom of the cerulean skies I'm lost and found, I'm all vapid sighs... Perhaps I'll colour a bit more of the scene The sun, slightly better, it's a beautiful citrine What could I do with tangerine? Nope, I got reflection on a baked bean Cobalt night... that night arrived too soon I'll explore a bit longer, I do love maroon I come across Van Gogh's sunflowers, I am sold! Over excited perhaps, if I describe them as marigold Each blade of grass, chartreuse, sage, lime My palette is getting ridiculously... sublime I'll go off on a tangent, fix the lime I made sub Give it a pep talk, a swift amber half in the pub I've stayed too long, bought an obsidian Guinness or two With a lime for company, you might too Get back on track, perhaps walk home I catch my reflection distorted in chrome The slate of the gravel confuses the brain But I still marvel at all this colourful terrain The deep asphaltic asphalt that tarmac will bring Even absence of colour can be a beautiful thing Pillar box red, there's a challenge right there It's a crimson receptical, a post man's lair McDonald's golden arches, let's liven them up too Gleaming aureate mmm's should do Did I write a poem, where's my lime? I think I'm losing track of a silver sliver of time Luckily the pearlescent moon has appeared, not by chance Lulling me gently with drifting opalescence Did I miss any good ones, let me glance through my chart Good old cerulean, what a buddy, there right at the start Well my opening line needs a decent close I'll weave alabaster in, curtain down on colour when it snows
