What Freedom Cost Me
I used to find happiness in you But all of a sudden, I’m feeling blue I can’t help but think I need more than just being confined beyond close doors I hesitate to let you know But I can’t help but let it show The burden that’s killing me inside Is something I can’t really hide All of a sudden, you hold me tears falling down from your face, slowly Then you whispered to me gently “My love, be free. Go and be happy” And so I run without looking back I jump for joy as I join my pack We play all day under the sun We hop, we jump, without ceasing, we run But when the sun sets and it gets dark When the moon rises in the midnight sky when the wolf howls and the dogs bark My heart starts to ache and I can’t help but cry The regret creeps in my heart like poison like a soft song, sang in unison As the chilly wind sends shivers down my spine I long for those days when you used to call me “mine” And now that you are so far away I am feeling down, sad, and astray I wonder if this is worth it you see I wonder “What my freedom cost me?” ----END --- This is the 2nd poem I wrote in my BUNNY trilogy 1st one is titled : BUNNY AND ME And the 3rd one : REUNITED. Please take some time to read the other poems I have written Appreciate you all.
