Malicious Intent
Once upon a time In a far off place Lived a hero and a villain Entangled destinies flowing through our veins Fates sealed since the beginning of time Well before Lady Justice Was ever in her prime Futures bound by merciless string, Just as prophecies for told No devil contracts needed For our souls are good as sold Your hero, Always subject to fame, Prosperity, And glory, He who could never be the villain of the story As for I, Who's choice is forever taken To the darkness and the shadows I was forsaken Evil by nature Good by popular demand One propelled into fortune The other sent spiraling down a rabbit hole of quicksand While the hero battled dragons And saved the kingdom from powerful enemies I struggled to elude My destructive identity For years I endured torment, Fear, And hate, All because no one could grasp That villains aren't born they're made They called me a monster, Malicious, Mean, And vile, So I reinvented myself int heir image And did so with a smile And to those who never thought To give me a chance Or that I would destroy you Without so much as a second glance I once wished to be like you Or that I would wake up and be the hero But I was young and naïve And my lucky stars burnt out light years ago Now I'm mean And now I'm scary But remember it was you Who chose this fate for me I'm only doing What you told me to, I am the villain Of your story And if I'm ever faced With an immoral obligation If I drop my cruel façade And my hands shake with hesitation It is you I will remember Those who deemed me unforgiving And I will blame you for this awful lonely life I've quote on quote been "living" Happily ever after was never an option But even if it was You have already decided I am undeserving of one
