Trapped
Trapped in my country's tourniquet, we wail uncontrollably as we're being smothered with egregious policies and difficult living conditions. we've been bound for so long a time, we bleed from the cuts and wounds, we die of hunger and thirst, we bow our heads in despair. forced on an arduous path, we look out for a route to salvation, hoping for a rescue team to show up, this chain is too heavy on us. trapped in my country's tourniquet, we bleed and rot, beaten into submission, subjugation and endless sorrow. fear of what is to come next envelopes and cripples us, our oppressors are mightily cruel, we're just grateful to still see the light of day, now that we still have our sight, many have had theirs sucked out and fed to the vultures. we've known torture and what it's colour looks like. our story runs deep. lost and trapped in this horizon, I wonder if we're still on the map, I wonder if anyone still searches for us.
