Fooled
He told me my eyes were the shining stormy sea, that my skin was as soft as as silk. He said my lips were warm and delicious, that he would never leave me alone. I believed that he was my everything, someone i wanted to spend forever with. I believed him with all my heart, I gave him my heart, my care, my affection. He told me all his lies, he gave me what he thought I wanted. But money can't win me over, that's not what I want, I can get my own money. Everything was like a fairy tale, then there was the day i saw him with another "princess". My heart broke in chunks and pieces, I ran and left the pieces on the ground. He told me he loved me, he gave me a dozen roses. He knew I saw what he was doing, he must have seen the pieces on the ground. I was blinded by his false kindness, mislead by his phony love. I was fooled by his words, and I've learned to keep somewhat guarded. He asked me to take him back, he threatened to commit suicide, for he could not live without me. He claimed we were meant to be together, he wanted to marry me. I saw him the next week, and he was pinning another girl against the wall. I was fooled by his words, but I got smart and left his cheatin' @$$ behind. He saw me carrying my pieces around, tried to say things to me and sending me sweets and roses. I sent them back to him and smiled, despite the pieces in my hands. I was fooled once by him, but not by him ever again. He had his chance to love me, but his true colors did not fool me.
