Cooing Birds Announce It's Time
a mere fledgling of twelve, with dreamy eyes,                                               I participated in a contest,                       revealing my utopian resolutions for the New Year....                                    if I won a million dollar lottery,                                        how would I spend the money!                            what an extraordinary frenzy it created...                                                when there was a huge furor                                                       with a handsome prize, writing -                          I would fund a hospital for the underprivileged .                         many years passed by, never got a lottery,                    never had the chance of funding a hospital for the needy,                                   or a Girls’ School, which was my other goal…                                     but I became a Teacher, chose to                                  teach underprivileged children who needed support.                                  for the next few years of my life,                      my resolutions are centred on the unfulfilled passions,                  which remained hushed inside the crimson petals of my heart,                                            never spoken aloud, never achieved  …                                 at the tranquil dusk of my life, which I embrace as                      the perfect time…cooing birds from the hills announce                                                 with their mellifluous songs,                                          reverberating the mountaintops... now is the opportunity,                               to use those blessings I was endowed with..                                   inherited from grandparents and parents,                       who left their lavender dreams, with dreamcatchers...                                                                                               I savour Nature’s calming  beauty which leaves me serene.                                                surrounded with that harmonious beauty,                                              inspire others to open their lilac senses to imbibe ,                              and preserve the wealth of the natural world -                                                   aquamarine oceans and coral mountains,                                                               majestic trees and cerulean sky!                                                                          erasing racism, sexism, child-abuse…                                                     doesn't happen instantly, we could be enthusiastic partners of those endeavours                                  focus on women empowerment, remembering                          mothers are pillars of the society - lives of children                                            bloom into exquisite flowers in the                                             gardens nurtured with tenderness                                             by their mothers.                                                           Poetry is my life, poetry is my soul....                                      often I float in the cobalt clouds of imagination and fantasy,                                but through my writing, not only the joys, pleasures, happinesses of life,                              I want to portray the part of life which is unknown to many,                                          the part which we deny to see it exists -   my pen bleeds with the pain...                                               tragic, dark, gloomy, often bleak!                                          want to create awareness...                                   about grim poverty, dismal injustices in the world,                                      the idea of equality, sharing, compassion, kindness,                                      to prove pens are mightier than swords....                                          joining hands of cooperation together,                                              we are able to change the world as it is right now!
