Just In My Memory
I woke up to look out my window with you on my mind. How quickly after my eyes opened did I soon realize, that only there in my memory is where I can keep you alive. I'm sorry I couldn't save you. I'm sorry I didn't try. I'm sorry if you felt like you were alone, for your whole short life. I wish I could have been stronger. I wish I could have helped. I wish we would have been closer, so some of the hurt you would've never felt. I hate that I wasn't able to connect with you because of a war we never knew. Like we had to have opinions, because of what our parents said to you. I wish we could have had more moments where we connected, but there was a hurt in you and I was it's reflection. I tried the best I could, with what I had. I still don't think I will forgive myself, I don't think I can do that. I loved you then, I hope you knew. I love you now in my memory, I will wait for you.
