The Wise Old Man's Doubt
When the glowing glints droop down, The dark curtains stretch all around, The sapped and the exhausted creatures Reaching their caves and nests to retire It’s the end of the day for them. When the dark diffused all over, It’s time for the nocturnal world to awake. With their blessed special senses to cope with, Start their struggling; a never ending story. Rumbling air and rustling of dried leaves, Croaks of frogs and clicks of bats, Swarm of locusts and chirpings of crickets, Whistles of owls and whimper of dogs, Slithering of snakes with hisses, Moths, beetles, wasps and flies A whimsical world of our childhood stories. The wise old man gets a doubt. Who should we call the creatures of the night? Working at odd hours, visiting friends, Late night parties, watching gadgets, Bother not about day and night. Is man a diurnal or a nocturnal? The wise old man gets a doubt. Creatures of the Night Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Julia Ward Date: 18-06-2022
