The Goddess of the Woods
Eyes so dark, almost the color of an unending abyss, many have swam in their view but none that she will miss Not the way that she misses the one, the one that made her shine, the light that she used to exude that is now hidden behind those dark, empty eyes That is why she is here in this dark, hollow, void place, where this is nothing but overgrown dreams and decayed memories of yesterday This is her sanctuary where she can be surrounded by all of the things that looks the way that she feels, where there is no life to be found only rotting trees and desolate, blackened, charred hills They call her “The Goddess of The Woods” because this is her place, where she ran to long ago when he chose to vanish from her life without so much as a trace No one knew where he went and only she knows the true reason why, he left her there holding the pieces of her broken heart as he kissed her lips goodbye She stopped breathing in that moment, her life it ceased to exist, she gave all that she once had within her and sent it away on the sweetness of his lips And then she appeared in these woods as if from a dark fantasy he created in his mind, and there she shall reside for the rest of time She wears all black, her dress it’s tattered and torn, and her body is like a vision of beauty but one that has been scorned So many are enraptured by her, you can’t help but to be, she is the darkness that so many crave but many do not venture to see It’s like she is bewitched, and she could take all of your troubles away, with just a touch of those full, luscious lips you would be mesmerized for all of your days Her ruby fingernails used for pleasure that could cut you like a knife, one look into her eyes and you will be enticed She may be all of these things and may be all that you’re looking for, but she isn’t looking for love, at least not anymore She is content here living among all of the decay, to her somehow it seems that her heart has now found it’s resting place She isn’t looking to be rescued, she doesn’t wish to leave, she is happy here in the darkness that she has found in the cover of the trees Here she can be as melancholy as she wishes to be, here she can cry out for the love she has lost, and her tears can intermingle in the decaying of the leaves Here she has left her mark through the tears that she has shed, she has embedded herself into all that surrounds her here, where everything is dead.
