Divine Intervention
Shall I confess to thee O world, Of how the fruit of youth, As it was handed over to me By those skies watching over us all Ever so silently Turned all rotten and soggy At the exact same moment That I touched it? Its acidic and toxic taste Had me wishing I was never born In a world which would never be mine! Yes, The air all around me had me feeling Ever so filthy about myself, As if, I was the rotten one here While it, A glowing piece of priceless jewellery! My youth bid me to be a misfit For the fragility of my wellbeing Was to be tattooed with those same Shaky grounds as they do stand Near active volcanos which do nothing other Than spit forth Fierce and powerful agents, Able to maim humans within seconds! Left to myself, I could only wish for then When I shall be delivered From this burden that I had become! But it so happened That those silent skies Had another plan for me, Yes, They did! For today, As I stand upon the top of this world, Accepting from its own hands, The crown worn solely by Queens, I can only look back tenderly At those dark days And proclaim loud and clear That those silent skies Had been loving me ever since Even if they had punished me so harshly And that they still do so, today!
