My Visitor
The devil knocked on my door this morning, but I didn't let him in. He cursed at me, I smiled then waved, he grinned. I'll be back, he replied. Instead of me saying a blessing, I slipped him a finger as he strolled by. I shouldn't have done that I thought, as he turned the corner so teed off. Now he really has a reason to come back. Cause I gave it to him as he gave it to me. How devilish was that, the way I acted? Now, I look up... He's back! He knocked even harder this time, mind you he ain't no friend of mine. But he comes here like he is, all dressed up, so debonair. I asked this stranger who are you looking for? He called me by my birth name, Saudia of course. I asked him how do you know me? He stated I waited for you, baited you, earlier when I came through. You teed me off, I said bye. Just until later, I knew, it wouldn't be that long again before I would see you. So here I am to cross you again. Are you going to curse this time, pick up something, strike with a blow from behind? I said knoll, but I am appalled considering that you came back at all. Never got your name... My name is Jack. Jack of all trades, here to work deals plus persuade. Persuade who? You, he replied. Me? Yes, you... I did it earlier when I stopped through. You could have prayed to God to cast me away, but you chose to curse me, which resulted in your sin... So I'm back to win again. I knew now whom I was dealing with. It wasn't a man named Jack. It was the devil, clear as a love letter. His intentions were bad and he had made me at this point, raging, boiling mad. See he was playing with me and I don't like to be played with. Instead of cursing again, I bowed my head and prayed. Just like that, Jack went away. But he left me an invitation that stated I'll be back someday, play your card right and I might just stay!
