The Seed Within
So you want to know, you want to know everything Where to begin… Maybe start with the spiraling theme of my reality Or perhaps the picture I painted with blood, so bright and brilliant Black has settled so deep within the skin, never to be drought out But yet lying on the ground drying out, no wait That is red, yes it’s red I am not shielded from myself and yet I don’t know how it happened Which one to choose… Take the blue one, no take the yellow one Wait here this one is the one, take the red one Let it gag the tragedies of my forgotten self Let it become the seed the grows within me Keep taking it until I’m scratching at the walls Scratching at the surface of this dirt Feeling it grow within me, now becoming infused as one Both reds blend together to create such a plastic smile The red one; by now I have forgotten who I am Who am I? I am the sole regret of life I am what I thought I seen in my dreams I am what rips a heart apart in a moment of happiness And now you want to know the truth, the whole truth And now my soul sings: “Are you happy, happy, happy, happy Are you happy, happy, happy with your plastic smile” You don’t wear my shame Written January 6, 2009
