Rose Buds To Remember
Yellow rose buds she requested for her senior prom Talked about how they would match a satin dress Did not know where the roses would come from And, as a young girl of ten, it was anyone’s guess. Red rose buds she requested be in her bridal bouquet To be carried next to her heart brimming with love In her wedding pictures always a reminder of the day She took her vows before her father up above. Pink rose buds she requested be in the maternity ward Where she delivered the first of her four daughters Pink roses would surely strike the perfect chord For a waiting room full of anxiously awaiting fathers. White rose buds she requested be placed on her casket A bouquet with Baby’s Breath and Asparagus Fern Then carried to a nursing home in a wicker basket Expressing to final friendships her lasting concern. Yellow, red, pink, white rose buds—her life story told In the most important times of her incredible life Their soft fragrances to her were like finest gold I know because, yes, she was my exceptional wife.
