Cherish
Cherish I didn’t find it on the Internet; a computer or my phone Instead, I found the meaning through family in my home I asked each person separately if cherish they’d define Next, what did they cherish and does it change over time My son said to cherish is to love on that you can depend Like the way I love my daughter, you, and my dear girlfriend My granddaughter took a moment then said to cherish is to care It’s like the way I feel about our family and how they are always there My son’s girlfriend is a big part of us to me she is his wife She answered with my son’s name and said she will cherish him for life My sister and her children live in a house nearby She said she cherished our mother and then began to cry One of my brother’s lives in New York it’s very far away He said to cherish something is to never want it to go away He went on to say he cherishes his friends, to him they mean so much He knows he can count on them, they are never out of touch My youngest brother is so strong, without him we’d surely perish He didn’t answer when I called but he knows it’s him we cherish I learned something valuable tonight It was like a blessing from above The definition of Cherish Is to hold tight something that you love 04/06/2021 Written for Writing Prompt - Cherish - Poetry Contest Sponsored by Constance La France
