The End
I listen for the sound of the key in the gate The kids grow pensive and I grow brave For I know that the jingle of the key means one thing He has come back tonight to reign as the king He will order and dictate, he will rule and remain He will torture our souls he will kill our each dream He stands with his hands in his pocket so calm I look up at him and wait for his demand He says he is tired he wants some peace So we all go to the room and allow him ease Yet he still comes there with a whip in hand Demanding our breathing so loudly they sound I apologise for us all, but to deaf ears they fall He is inebriated I see, but still has all this gall I will not let him hit again I vowed So today it will end I solemnly said I aim the trigger at his temple, no other And I lead him away from my son and daughter He starts crying and stumbling, apologising and promising I laugh at his cowardice, his lying and his cheating For today it will end I stoically attest For today I lay him down to rest
