Genesis of Doubt
Genesis of Doubt Oh darkness, may you be a product of the deceiver, the enemy. I tremble at your thought; resultant nothingness is terrifying to me. May that nightmare be a shadow that fades with faithful days. May that pure light be hope, not simply a depleted and dying gaze. Dear Something, Dear Anything, give life to this metal logic. Give me weight in the still of night; pierce the heart of the agnostic! Grind me in the gears if such is necessary to show me Your face. My black heart is lost between the atoms, lost in the bounds of space! I pray to hear Your voice, to know once again that You are there, To lay myself in Your hands once more, like a sick child to a fervent father. Oh Lord! Stay these demons! Show me their horns that I might know them! To know evil leaves no choice but to believe in good; to believe again! Oh Jesus! Fetch me old Darwin and fetch me Occam’s Razor! Show me Your thumb print on the heels of every philosopher. Please oh Lord! I pray for peace! I pray for faith! I pray for my soul! I pray to see Your candle once more; to wake once more as a whole! Praise be to God if God be with me still. Job 12:2 (Wisdom will die with you) Matt 14:31 (I am sinking) Mark 11:23 (I feel very weak) Luke 24:38; John 20:27 (I need a visit) 9/20/2013
