Solo Act
All alone A girl with her guitar Backstage, she plucks the strings Her fingers are cold, as she prepares to play Her leg twitching, she try’s to remember everything She looks around at the others; they’re laughing and relaxed as ever It seems impossible that she will walk out on stage in only a few moments The notes of the music quickly fade out of her mind, and leave her there all alone She hears the announcer call her name, but her legs feel so impossibly heavy As she pulls herself upright, she almost drops her guitar, but then can walk Going up onstage with her guitar as her only friend, she swallows hard She nervously sits on the lone seat and watches the crowd below They look at her expectantly, awaiting her, and the serenades She plucks the first few notes, then a few more At the end, the crowed roars, applauding She takes her bow, and hurries off To go home and eat her dinner Hoping Mum doesn’t know For she would be mad Immensely
