Sometimes Remembered
The white picket fence, everyone strives for A dream that cannot be experienced until created Which we never get around to doing Sometimes remembered, but mostly forgotten Somewhere deep inside us all Is a broken hearted clown Stuck full of needles and pins We're sometimes remembered, but mostly forgotten It hurts the most when it sits deep inside When you feel your soul has been torn And all you can do is cry Something tells me that all I am now Is a faded dream All I hear are questions and voices Inside my head going on and off Because words are not enough Breaking nails trying to pry off the pain Allowing ourselves to fall away Leaving behind everything Sometimes remembered, but mostly forgotten It hits the hardest When you need it the least Our lights growing dimmer We're sometimes remembered It hurts the most when it sits deep inside When you feel your soul has been torn And all you can do is cry Something tells me that all I am now Is a faded dream All I hear are questions and voices Inside my head going on and off Because words are not enough Because words are not enough The white picket fence, everyone strives for Our dreams of happy endings Are sometimes remembered, mostly When we're gone Written February 16, 2004
