A Glorious Night
A velvet black, with a shining glitter, With silver flecks, a sky to litter. A shining sky, of black and blue, With eyes to gaze, a glorious view. The smoothness of black, And the boldness of light, As the moon will shine, in the darkness of night. A large hazy fence, splits through the sky, The milky way, so astonishingly high. The swirls of galaxies, so far and so distant, Yet filled with all colour, in a space so consistent. With yellows, and green, and blues and purple, And reds and silvers, as they swirl in a circle. The universe of course, an extraordinary place, With a sea of dreams, for you all to face. The dreams we see, are made from there, In the hearts of galaxies, to which we will stare. So close yet so far, almost there to touch, An untouched beauty, I know of that much. As orange bullets, will dart through the sky, With ember tails, as they shoot on by. I love so much, to stare in the night, And see the comets, in a glorious flight. For millions of years, they’ve took their path, For us to name, and then learn in class. The ancient universe, above our heads, Looks down on us, as we lie in our beds. It’s alive you know, swirling around, And breathing noise, a low humming sound. The pulses of light, that engulf our earth, From balls of fire, through death and birth. A new star will shine, as another will die, In graceful fashion, a supernova so high. A final act, on the stage that they stand, An explosion of colour, a black canvas on hand. The final piece, for a glorious light, That will then fade, to the blues of night.
