Beacon
Beacon.... I love the way I feel right now... Sitting at the bar Like father like son A testament carved out in stone The parallels of two distant lives I have crossed the lines out of despair If only to change the course of futility In an attempt to break the surface for air Just one deep breath before I sink back under Until the next time a beacon shines out for me.... And then I come to realize How fast dreams turn to dust Here then gone right before your eyes My head, nor my heart can I trust anymore Back beneath the surface I hold my only breath And I wait for the beacon that brings me up for air again... Not a chance in hell I will survive the wait Not a light on the horizon, only the darkness of fathomless depths Though I sink, I still swim Regardless of the hopelessness within ...
