I Never Knew I Was a Love Poem
I never knew I was a love poem until he read between my lines Intertwined he defined my meaning by reading the inner mystery inside His penmanship casted spells as he scribed strawberry letters across my quintessence his language was dipped in elegance as his pen gave life to my eloquence To me he be relevant and poetic as Langston Hughes I was his Dark Girl Magic and he made me a verse inside his Dark Man Blues We were colorful hues of love songs and symphonies and once I became his epiphany he was able to baptize my wrongs in every vow that he would write about me Provocative he found me and named me insatiable pulled out my chair sitting me down to feast from the contents of his poetic table As we sampled the love he made with the main ingredient being me he opened up the pages of his composition book and laid me down between those sheets He wrote me down and it was then that I found I was a love poem but I never knew until he read between my lines telling me LaLa the words I transgress and confess are all about you
