A Woman's Wake Up Call
A Woman’s Wake up Call So many regrets, I wish to send, a mend, a fix or change. Numerous decisions, Not yet set, Only just rearranged. A life time of broken hearts, Now presently one. Preheating each mistake, I’m left to bake, Until done. Simmering in sadness, For many a dish has grown cold. Not hankering to see, What this life’s napkin will unfold. Daughter of gloom Overdue to bloom, Holds impending doom. Time to sweep up my tears, With a dusty old broom. However planted, My seed sits, soiled in soil. Oh how tediously wearing, Has been the rearing toil. Where art thou, Relief? All around, beneath? I search and I call. Heartburn exceeds in mass degree. Stale, but still a deadly scald. No more pride, Or love inside. Diminished flame, I can not share. Stripped from me, My dignity, I remain cold and bare. Alas, The time has gone, And now past, Afraid I’m just too late. Discovered crud, muddled mud, disguised a stud. For the chosen, Unsuitable mate. But from this breed, A first seed was conceived. Bright, as if, a star was born. In a blink of an eye, When she did rise, Joyous cries, Then quietly die, Away with the morn. After all my tears, My daughter is here! Well worth the hardship endured. Through strife, My savior knife, Tender as a lamb, And much adored.
