If I Ruled the World
If I ruled the whole wide world there's so much that I would change I wouldn't be Mr Popular and they'd think me somewhat strange First thing to go would be nuclear arms they would all be banned I'd then send my officials to keep watch, in the corners of every land. Next would be the wealthy nations I'd put a stop to all the greed And give all poorer nations on earth everything that they need I'd create an international police force to tackle all the crime And ensure the hardened criminals served all their prison time. The environment is another issue that's high up on my list I'd pass laws banning the use of plastic of that I would insist Then a clean up of all the oceans, they've become a dumping ground Any country found not doing their bit; personally I would hound. Poor air quality and thick smog, in cities is often seen I'd have special filters put in cars so that they could all go green And planes are great polluters; they leave vapour in our sky I'd encourage train and boat use as an alternative to fly. I'd tackle extreme racism and hate crimes of every kind Then come down hard on offenders; I'd be an iron fist they'd find Wars too would be outlawed they'd be no more refugees Any rogue states starting conflicts I'd bring them to their knees. For all the firearms in the world, I'd have an amnesty Then every country in the world could then be classed gun free I'd make all towns and cities, peaceful sanctuaries You could all go about your daily chores without any worries. Some cultures in other lands treat their women differently I'd probably upset the 'old guard' by saying they have equality Free education is the next thing I'd have it for every child In large cities and big towns and even kids out in the wild. There's homeless people everywhere a sight that's sad to see I'd build more homes and shelters for all of humanity More hospitals in every country that I'd have built everywhere Everyone could expect to receive the best of medical care. A rich economy I'd create; jobs for every woman and man People I'd expect to do a days work but only if they can Hunger I'd eliminate there would be enough food for all Build sports facilities to keep you fit, gymnastics or football. Of course you'd have doubters saying that this guy he's quite funny He wants to change the whole world so where will he get his money Well distribution of all the worlds wealth would now be controlled by me And money saved on nuclear arms I'd spend on all humanity. All these changes that I'd implement would not happen overnight I'd make some mistakes on the way but in the end I'd get it right A good quality of life for everyone that would be my priority So when you cast your vote at the ballot box I hope you vote for me.
