Unrequited
You broke me, long before I was ever meant to be broken. I had not yet built my defenses and was unprepared for such an assault. You shattered into my awareness and washed over me like a tidal wave of self doubt and longing that pulverized my heart and soul against a rocky shoreline, grinding me into the tiniest bits that could no longer be held even by the steadiest of hands. And yet I continued, unashamed and helplessly addicted to the one thing in this world that I have no justification for needing, except for that emptiness I felt when you weren't there. I was unable to stand on my own two legs which wobbled, drunk with fear and with the knowledge that I would fall apart at the mere notion that you would not have me. After all I have given you, and all that I could yet give. I searched the world for ways to not love you. In the end I found it was the truth.
