The Ghost and the Labyrinth
He feels his way down the darkened hall quivering white hands trembling along the wall. Pausing as he hears the floorboards creak underneath his weightless feet. Startled awake she holds her breath overcome with dread and a sense of death. Both are frozen listening for a sound at the hallway door. He is lost and can't find his way out. She cannot hear his anguished shout. She closes her eyes in fear as she feels him draw near. He just wants to ask her the way, he's practiced what he's going to say. He sees her lips moving, knows what she's doing, praying him away every day, every day. He's at the end of the hall again, back at the start of it all again, and so the cycle is repeated, the spirit feels defeated. He cannot escape this maze as nights turn into days. The price is restless sleep for the spirits that we keep. She finds herself growing old as he wonders why... he's so cold.
