Departure
Departure You could say I lost the plot The plans I made from what I’m not I think you know my blood is thick On days when stares tell me i’m sick My toes are cold in fallen snow On mountain tops I used to know The memories of better days They fade away to sheets of gray Parastesia to my thumbs It feels so good to be this numb With echoes crashing down the slope I’m running out of ways to cope Without a sound, it’s never real No context for the ways I feel I’m falling down the path I see Like Silence screaming in my sleep Don’t tell that it’s not so bad I’m everything I never had For every ghost that set me free I’m thankful for those memories My thickest skin will weather me The drugs in me; my next decree Don’t filter out this lonely heart One day... A place... I won’t depart
