Kicking My Butt
I have a lighter in my back pocket Right next to your picture in a heart shaped locket As I watch the circled rings of smoke filter the air I stared into your eyes and wonder if that was really fair Little eyes bewildered to what she had seen No more smiles that glisten or gleamed Apology was just not enough Made me snuff out that nasty cigarette butt Nerves of steel I must contain For her love I shall and will refrain Over thirty years and not even knowing I was polluting our air with this smoke I was blowing Going to do and try all I can To put out these cigarettes I once called friend Maybe a patch or poke to stop those raging craves Or just take a nice stroll on a summer's day To see her bright smile once again Is what I'll be savoring for around the bend But for now my lighter will stay in my back pocket So when I'm finished it will be to ignite a big silver rocket Tribute To My Jenny Rose Please Forgive Me My Little Peanut Mama's Trying Trying To Quit Smoking After 30 Yrs I think It's Time To Snuff Out That Butt Head LOL
