Corina's Piano
Corina's piano played in Waterbury on Tudor Street; that's where a small crowd would gather by her open window, and hear her new song with a 3/4 beat and happily sing along... despite the sizzling heat. I've moved back to New York, this past May, and I sing the Opera Buffa on my empty stage; dreaming of being of a younger age! Corina recently moved with her mom, sister and two brothers to PA; and there she plays the Fifth of Beethoven... imagining a big crowd at sixteen: bringing on her ingenuity and charm. Corina's piano is a small Yamaha that she loves madly, and in no time at all, she learned how to play The Walls of Jericho... bringing to life the courageous and handsome Joshua! Corina's piano, once belonged to me then, and I spent much time playing a Mozart's Symphony No. 10. In the quite suburbs... nothing exciting happens, anyway; only Broadway and The Metropolitan Opera can lift up a dreamer's ego in wealthy America. I may never be acclaimed as the great composers, who were favored by fame, and Corina has many chances at stardom... while I sit, at this piano, and play the music of yesterday.
