Lord, Send Me a Friend
Joyful a child of our Savior and King, Blessed by God’s grace beyond all degree. E’en so, there come times of trial and pain, When I need a true friend to walk with me. When life is hard and is falling apart, Lord, send me a friend, who will share my pain, Who will help to restore my broken heart, Until my life is in the Lord again. When fallen deep into moral crisis, Lord, send me a friend, who will share my pain, Who is a pathway to Christian wholeness, Until my life is right in Christ again. When I’ve lost spiritual direction, Lord, send me a friend, who will share my pain, Who will help make all the right corrections, Until my life is on the Way again. Lord, call servants with heartfelt devotion, From amongst our sisters and our brothers; Like Jesus, full of love and compassion, Who will in Christ share the pain of others.
