Silent War
They forgot the cause for the falling ash The disaster aftermath of the great collapse Decrees to stay away from the grey afterthoughts of the past To live for the story we tell; our legacy to last Chaos and fatigue englulf this meeting of souls Kindred minds intertwined in the future we stole We arm ourselves with shields, and weapons of mass destruction These trigger fingers engaging in our rebel-yell seduction The war wages on with tears replacing sounds The drummer’s playing now with hope instead of sound We’re always finding painful ways to eacape the fear of silence So calmity please, beget these scenes of crushing violence This is the path We fell into by chance No one left to blame but fate and circumstance As the emerald fields fade away to shades of grey The battle rages on, while forgotten Youth plays today Here in your arms; I slowly drift into you and I But I can’t leave you here while your green eyes swell with pride To hold back the tears; the scars ever present here I hope that one day we will hang up our shields and simply dissapear
