Only Robins and Grows Know
To those who that like to wander their gardens while sipping a martini On a stunning occasion While enjoying my garden I was listening to the birdsong Emanating from surrounding trees Concentrating on mister robin And later a particular crow They seemed to be trying to relay To me some vital information I became increasingly curious Suddenly it was extremely urgent That I understand the repeating Message, which they both tirelessly screamed Suddenly, a tap on my shoulder I turned around, and it was my wife She asked me, why I hadn’t answered her Why was I staring at her red rhodies The birds, I told her, they’re trying to tell She said I’d been in the sun too long Come back to the house before the neighbors Well they might become suspicious of you Inside, I went with her reluctantly Thinking I had been foiled at that moment I could have discovered the meaning! What a cruel game. Too much sun indeed! © Copyrights G. Jones 2006
