Journey of Night
Trying to sleep with a toss and a turn, thoughts racing in such a simple mind, of what you know and need to learn, so much to do yet there is so little time. Each night when I lay down to sleep, images dance around inside my head, ideas come and go that I can not keep, sometimes wonder if I’m alive or dead. Night blends the future with the past, and for an instant clarity will speak, then it becomes clouded never to last, dreams bold yet humbling to the meek. The essence of time moves ever so slow, with the dark journey of any given night, lying awake you can hear the wind blow, tired and exhausted, images create fright. Awake or asleep so often you can not tell, sweat pouring from your own body’s heat, nights can be trying, your own living hell, rising to the morning, so sleepy, still beat.
