Laced With Pain
Have you ever just cried and cried Just wanting to die? Suffering from so much pain, Your tears, an unstopable rain. How the hurt runs through and through Like the laces of a shoe. From the bottom they climb, One loop at a time. Tighter and tighter they become, Wanting to just feel numb. Zig-Zagging, Criss-Crossing to the top, Tied all up in a Double-Knot. Trapped are all your emotions inside, Suffocating you with nowhere to hide. Consuming your whole entire being, Leaving your heart broken and bleeding. Being wronged by the ultimate betrayal, Yet feeling you're the one who failed. Something you just didn't do For him to be untrue. But then you realize As you look into his eyes, His "I'm sorry" is true And he still loves you. Not knowing where to begin, You know you must forgive. With so much damage to repair, You've got to start somewhere. Hoping, slowly the past eraces, Removing all of the laces, Releasing all the pain and sorrow, Moving on to a brighter tomorrow.
