Un-Romeo and Juliet
Time is on our side, Pushing us from what we had, No matter how we tried, The constant heartache drove us mad, And so we went our separate ways, Tore our hearts apart, It was like seeing through a haze, Until I finally understood my heart. Once discovered, it was not disguised, By depression or regret, Since the moment that I realized, We never loved like Romeo and Juliet. Fit together like unmatched puzzle pieces, Was how our souls entwined, Once and for all our forcing ceases, Our souls shape back and heal with time, But in my heart you'll always be, And force me to remember, Your memory will live in me, Glowing like an ember. Once discovered, it was not disguised, By depression or regret, Since the moment that I realized, We never loved like Romeo and Juliet.
