The Bell Tolls
At 3:15 when school lets out The kids all smile and they shout Never knowing, what it’s about Their lives are so carefree Their school day ended, fun’s begun In games they play just to have won Enjoying their time out in the sun Fun is all they see Alas, they’ll grow, lose innocence As time goes on, get employment To one day pay the undying rent They will then sell their soul Perhaps they’ll choose just happiness Because after all, that is what’s best And just get enough to pay the rest Of the debtors that control If they find careers that truly please Then they will work, but smile with ease And won’t have to stand in line for cheese Because they had chosen well So, children when you grow so tall We really wish that you stayed small Because we love you, after all Have fun, it’s the school bell!
