A small glimmer of hope, He waves, Hoping... That maybe she will notice, And come back. He hurts inside for what he said, And wishes for that warmth, That her light once gave him, To heal his tormented soul. So much loss he has suffered, And fears that more may be his end, He tries to yell, but nothing comes out, As if his vocal cords were severed, Like the old ties of the beast inside. Old scars reappear like battle wounds, Mapped over his body like a canvas, She had made them almost scarce, But now that she is going, They reappear like phantoms. He does not know if she will ever return, But until then, He will sit, In this dark prison of his past, Hoping that she will pull him back into the light.
