My Plea
My Plea Villanelle Written in Ionic Minore Tripody Alexandrine meter Don’t leave lass, but stay thy near start, make me not sad. Fair maid, this boon I seek, dear love, hold thee this hand. Thy gentle hand’s so beautiful, make me full glad. Safe we are from wide eyes in this high comfy pad. Deign thee not to leave me for strong my passion’s fanned. Don’t leave lass, but stay thy near start, make me not sad. Chase virtue becomes thee, dear lass, I’ll surely add. Thy modesty I see, Ruth, doth show simply grand. Thy gentle hand’s so beautiful, make me full glad. Great wine should look, my darling Ruth, light amber clad. You’ll marvel at taste after its bouquet’s been fanned. Don’t leave lass, but stay thy near start, make me not sad. Seek ease on this close chair that’s soft, fair maid, not bad. Might we not give a toast to gods’ great judgment, and thy gentle hand’s so beautiful, make me full glad. Right doing and by being just, I’m a good lad. My mind doth now race great with love, like a loud band. Don’t leave lass, but stay thy near start, make me not sad. Thy gentle hand’s so beautiful, make me full glad.
