Just Within Reach (Part 2)
I laugh inside, they must be joking, stepping back I let the corpse fall to the floor convulsing, raising my arms out to the side, like a cross I turn away then drop into a crouch spinning back tearing open their chests with both claws sending bits of heart and lung to the wall creating a mural of brutality. Before the bodies hit the ground I rotate overlooking my artwork spotting the bartendress, her strength is so admirable standing there behind the bar quivering, makes me almost wish it didn't have to be done, but no need for witnesses, I'll tell my own tale. I draw in the light dimming the environment then slide across the floor never taking a step staring into those liquid blue eyes of hers. Keeping her locked in my stare I draw closer slowly, when within reach I cradle her in her last embrace constantly looking into those pools of blue. Retracting my claws I touch her cheek allowing her to feel her last caress, then bringing my mouth down by her ear I snap into her neck severing the jugular drinking in her soul as it pours out and as the light leaves her eyes I lower her convulsing body to the floor, heading out the door I put the closed sign in the window.
