What are you burning

What are you burning
I think it's your soul
Breathing in smoke
That won't fill the hole

And when you breathe out
Your chemical pain
Your heart is still bleeding
And numb just the same

Emptiness comes
You know it so well
The hours of nothingness
Then breaking the spell

Dead ends and grey roads
You've been here before
Run while you still can
Then run on some more

Escape this distra
It doesn't exist
You get back the love
The love that you missed

And one day you'll look back
Look back and see
You rose up from nothing
And you will be free

In gentlest hands

They walk as if they're guided
By winds and gentle hands
Hold lanterns the distance
Held in childish hands

Afar you see them floating
Their Laughter echoes on
Those gentle hands caress them
These ghosts we are among

They were the Children of the sun
But darkness called so sweet
They embraced the gentlest hands
Walked with childish feet

They dissappear into the gloom
Watch the fading light
Those gentle hands have taken
Those children of the night

Wraiths

We are the wraiths
Floating above
Embracing the ghosts
Of our chemical love

Weare the ones
you're not sure you see
Hiding in shadows
Barely perceived

We search out the alleys
The cut throughs, the lanes
Old rusting bridges
That echo our names

Waiting for runners
When did they leave
Bring us the air
That only we breathe

Empty glass vials
And sharp metal pins
Empty and deadly
Yet smiling within

Such obvious secrets
Betrayed in our eyes
Our scars and our tracks
Our mouths full of lies

But we'll smile in your judgment
Because we are the grey
In your black and white world
Of lightness and day

I am the dark

What am I doing
Am I out of control
Spiralling Spiralling
To where I don't know

I haunt haunted places
Obsessed by the pain
Waiting to feel
The darkness again

I am the dark
I need to be free
Never condemned
By normality

So I'll walk down those paths
I know them so well
I'll stay in my shadows
A comfortable hell
