it's difficult to find inspiration
in a world that you've given up on
when you look around at the people
realizing there is no justification
rhyme or reason for all that they do
they just do
how dull

perhaps it's easy to scoff at the world
since i have given up on myself as well
from time to time

maybe it's because within this young vessel
behind these baby blues lies an old soul
that recognizes our worlds true potential
and sees we've taken the wrong path

however
don't mistake my disinterest in society
for lack of compassion towards humanity
i love our species
just as much for our faults
as i do for our good

and while i find it hard to socialize
when standing along side the living
know that i would do anything for you
give you my wealth, food, shelter and clothing
and that i would lay down my life for you
and be honored to lay at rest beside you

for we are all a part of the same entity
i am a part of you and you are a part of me

the physical world unravels before my eyes
and all i see is a subconscious network
filled with the essence of creation
from our lifes energy
and whether we realize it or not
when one of us falls
we all feel it
the universe feels it

maybe i wasn't ready for the world
or the world wasn't ready for me

there has got to be something more

i just hope that when i fall and you feel it
you'll know it was me and smile
knowing i welcomed it as i welcomed you
with a warm smile and loving embrace
