Tropical Storm

On a hot, muggy evening in late spring, in Florida, Mother Nature was doing her thing. Bolts of lightning: a spectacular show hovering over the Gulf of Mexico. Flashes with white, yellow and orange hues glowing repeatedly with variations of views. In the distance, a constant rumble of thunder with jagged firebolts seeming to rip the sky asunder. Was the sky in anger, with a warning to tell? Was it lighting up the gates of heaven…or hell? The message is quite clear to describe what I saw: Respect our natural world and regard it with awe.

I feel the same way as you do when a storm rumbles through this area...like this morning. I often wonder what you do. I can identify with your last two lines. All the rumbling reminds me to respect the grandeur of mother nature. Lovely words. Have a great evening, Sara

Hi, Sara and thank you for your kind words. I just recently saw (and heard) this storm in Florida and it was so different from anything I’ve experienced in Canada. I just had to write about it. Take care. Your poet friend in Newfoundland, Jim.
