How Near Is Your God?

His eyes glued to mountain’s peak,
it’s so close to God, he thought.
Mesmerized, he could not speak,
for due to grief he was distraught.
Too soon a voice gave him a start,
He pondered why to himself it came.
It said God’s place is in your heart,
just seek forgiveness in Jesus’ name.
Give him your all not just a token,
God commands that it’s all or none.
At that moment, with spirit broken,
he took the hand of God’s only son.
