Comparisons Filled With True Wisdom

It's so easy to look with envy at others
thinking satisfaction can be won
by taking to yourself what they've got
when in the end you don't have fun

Comparing yourself with others
is never such a good idea
for you always are tricked offline
wishing to hear with a wax-free ear

Two days can change a person
for no couple of days are ever the same
yesterday's self always requires better
not to think so never brings you fame

Looking at someone else is not wise
even today it doesn't ring true
for you were made what you are
not as anybody else but just truly you

So compare you truly as you
look upwards move forward being wise
show yourself as one self-approved
others see you as one of the good guys

(Quote:
'Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.')
- Jordan B. Petterson (Canadian Psychologist)

Hi Gordon, enjoyed reading this poem. There’s always someone better off, or better looking than yourself, life isn’t fair but we should be grateful for who or what we are, after all we all get here the same way, leave the same way, so what happens in the hereafter for each of us it will be the same… Beryl
