Cold

It's been a long time since a smile graced this face, the voices say, 'The pain will go away.'

Wearing a mask to cover the decay, the voices say, 'Embrace the pain.'

Been strong for so long to see what remains, the voices say, 'The pain always stays.'

The sun is setting, and it's growing cold outside, the voices say, 'Pain is the cause of my demise'.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
